Parents can also play this role by attending and listening to their children. It is not authentic way to put your interest on your children. There are different theories which describe that our adulthood got much effect by our childhood. Childhood memories remain in our unconscious and have influence on our later life. Children in their early age are not trained that how to cope with stress, anger, how to face failure, how to grow and how to be positive etc. All is need of proper counselling. There are many cases that show the effect of lackness of counselling. It is illustrated by real example that a girl who is now at university level was when in her childhood got so disappointed by her grades that she got into depression. For two weeks she continuously remained in that depressive state and had developed a thought pattern that she will not further continue her studies. And that thing still disturbs her because that depressive phase has left some parts in her. If she had received counselling at that time then there were chances that she may have more confidence in making decisions.
Basically childhood is a learning phase and the learnt things remains in our mind and have an impact on our behavior later on. Therefore there should be a proper source to have guidance and need to know how make decisions. If children got counselling then it also help them to shape their personality as more than half of our personality shapes up in our early ages.
In a nutshell, if we compare children with proper counselling and children without counselling then results will be clear that counselled children will have specified goals about their life, are confident and have life satisfaction etc. So parents should be make aware of the fact that providing counselling is one of the necessities of children’s life if they want to see their children living a prosper life.
